  • 24/7 responsibility of day-to-day operations and practice of a 40,000+, annual patient visit Emergency Department
  • Supervise and manage 87 FTE clinical nursing and support staff including hiring, recruitment, mentoring, orientation, onboarding, annual competencies, performance evaluation, scheduling, attendance, and staff retention as well as implementation of corrective action as necessary
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians and all other staff to ensure that the clinical facility is operating efficiently on a consistent basis while identifying issues impacting quality and cost effective care
  • Responsible for maintenance of standards of care mandated by regulatory agencies
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously included but not limited to streamlining staffing & scheduling procedures, education plan, onboarding, equipment replacement and unit redesign
  • Hold monthly departmental staff and charge nurse meetings
  • Foster employee engagement, satisfaction, and recognition of staff
  • Experienced in launching new quality improvement projects and/or initiatives
  • Responsible for reviewing and monitoring budget activity/productivity and expense approvals
